PostHeaderIcon I have a cheap down quilt I bought from Target. Can I wash it in the washing machine?

I don't have the care tag for the quilt, and I was hoping to put it in the washing machine to wash it. When I need to dry it, can it go in the dryer or do I need to air dry it?

I wash our down comforter in the washer. I definently put it in the dryer to make sure that it get dried all the way through before it could get musty.
I also keep a can of clean tennis balls in my laundry room that I put in with down items in the dryer so they dry quicker and get fluffy.

Try it. If it’s really cheap and it gets ruined, get another cheap one, with a label.

Or run to Target now and check-out the care labels on similar quilts.

By law, instructons are somewhere on the product. If you took it off, make sure it has "down" in it (not usual these days). Probably has fiber filling – wash on gentle cycle, dry on knit or something gentle

It will be fine in the washer and drier.

When in doubt, wash and dry on the gentlest cycle possible

You’re probably safe… I’d wash it on a gentle cycle and then use air fluff or some other gentle dry cycle.

Everybody is right. Go ahead. But put a pair of clean sneakers in the dryer to keep the down from "clumping" Lots of noise, but works.
