My husbands mother gave our son a quilt that she hand knitted for his 1st birthday. She had it dry cleaned but that can get costly after a while. It needs washed since he sleeps with it every night. What is the best way to wash it without ruining it?

My friend made us a quilt for our baby which we cant use yet but I wanted to hang it on the wall. I dont want to puncture the edges with nails or tacs and was hoping there was a way to do this without damaging the quilt

I woke up and there was drops of blood all over a very old white quilt and its my fathers and i dont know how to get the blood out. Can somebody please help me?@!

I am making a jean quilt and am wondering what size I need to make it for a queen bed.

My 91-year-old grandmother has been sensing the end of her time here for a few years now and has tried to give away to her family everything of value she owns. This weekend she gave me and my wife a quilt that was handmade by my great, great, great grandmother who was an American Indian. She even spun the thread used to make it. This quilt is at least 150 years old. My wife and I plan to have it cleaned professionally and then somehow mount it on the wall. It does have a couple of stains on it that I would like to be removed if possible. Do you know what type of business I should contact for the cleaning? Any cleaning methods that are better than others? Any ideas on how to properly mount to the wall? Should it be put in a wooden case with a glass covering? What about products I could use for preservation?

Is it easier with a quilt frame or to use a large table to lay it out on to pin it first?

I am making a memory quilt for my mother in law. I want to include pics of the family on it. I have tried printing them from home but they don't turn out well. Where can I send them so that they will look great but not cost a fortune?

I'm making a patchwork blanket/quilt for a friend and want to make sure it keeps her super warm during cold Minnesota winters. Is there anything that I can do to make it especially warm? Should I use two layers of batting? What about fleece backing? HELP!

I've been asked to make a twin bed cover/quilt from "Hawaiian" mu-mu fabrics. I assumed the fabrics would be cotton floral prints. When the box arrived it contained a dozen flowing caftans and a number of scarves of fine silk like polyester, all in dramatic prints. I can't imagine that fabric as a bed quilt. Has anyone worked with this type fabric for a coverlet? How would I stabilize the work? Thanks for all input.

Published in a series of Quilt World issues in 1990 & 91. Also published as a book in 1990. It is combination applique and embroidery.
